Famous
On the evening of November 16, national and international stars celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Bambi Awards at the Bavarian Film Studios in Munich, and the event was broadcast live on free-to-air television on Saturday the 1st.
There were many surprises: Giovanni Zarrella, for example, not only led the event as a presenter, but suddenly received the award himself in the “Entertainment” category.
However, the event did not go without problems. On social media, the public was amused by a mistake. There was also a moment that caused a lot of discontent.
Glitch with Bambi
Basketball coach Gordon Herbert, who led the German national team to victory in the World Cup this year, accepted the award from Bastian Schweinsteiger and his wife Ana Ivanovic, but soon had to fight a crisis: As the 64-year-old began his acceptance speech, his microphone suddenly broke.

Herbert attempted to repair the device himself with one hand while holding Bambi in the other. However, he was unsuccessful, so they eventually brought him a new microphone. He did not allow himself to be disturbed, but began his speech with confidence: “We have shown what can be achieved with a team like this,” he said proudly.
Although the incident only lasted a few seconds, it did not go unnoticed by the public. “It doesn’t get any better than that, right?” said one viewer on X (formerly Twitter) with amusement.
In another place you could read: “‘Made in Germany’ is no longer what it was.” The scene definitely caused amusement.
Bambi memorial moment causes outrage
But the broadcast caused a stir elsewhere. When Wincent Weiss performed his song “Just a Heartbeat Away” on stage, photographs of personalities who died this year were shown in the background. Among other things, photographs of singer Tina Turner and pole vaulter Tim Lobinger could be seen.
The staging of the moment angered many. Several people considered that the deceased were not sufficiently honored in this way. One user would have preferred to show the images in close-up instead of pointing the camera at Wincent Weiss. The clear verdict next to “maximally disrespectful”:
“God, this is all unprofessional.”
“Every time it’s the same thing,” said another person, who was also very critical. A question is addressed directly to the television team: “Didn’t the editorial team learn respect from you?”
Another viewer finds the entire performance “truly incredible” (in a negative sense) and describes Wincent Weiss as an “unknown gentle bard.”
Jan Böhmermann promised a “very special Friday night” and with the “ZDF Magazine Royale Festival” he had to keep his word. The entertainer presented, in a pleasantly reserved way, a music festival, not only for Generation Z. Alli Neumann, Badmómzjay, Blumengarten, Oliver Tree, Domiziana, Ski Aggu, Apsilon and Kim Frank, singer of the Flensburg group “Echt”, Dissolved two decades ago, it showed the public the attitude towards life of young people. “We are all entitled to a little escapism,” said Böhmermann in his stand-up.
