In every amateur football team, collective evenings are probably the most anticipated event. With a cold drink you can reflect on the last games, the best goals or the biggest mistakes of recent weeks.

These evenings are usually associated with activities. You can bowl, bowl, climb or just eat. At the same time, it is often unimaginable what all this could be like for professional footballers. In this group there are also regular evenings. Lately they have been made public repeatedly, especially in the national team, sometimes with strange scenes.

The newspaper “Bild” reported that Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz was late for the bus departure to spend the evening together during the international break in March. Precisely because the DFB stars are in the public eye, great secrecy is kept about their joint activities. Now the tabloid media has once again reported on a DFB team night in which many things went wrong.

Therefore, on Thursday the national team players went to an Italian steakhouse in Frankfurt, recommended by Eintracht goalkeeper Kevin Trapp. The professionals were there for about two and a half hours with loud music and apparently in a good mood.

When the team bus arrived to pick up the stars, according to “Bild”, Niklas Süle, Jonathan Tah, Pascal Groß, Jonas Hofmann and Robert Andrich left the restaurant and got into a waiting taxi. It is not clear why the stars wanted to travel with him and not with the bus and the rest of the players. But instead of starting to move, the car alarm suddenly sounded.

The driver was unable to turn off the unpleasant sound for several minutes, so even curious residents came out of their homes and watched and filmed the scene. In the end, the taxi driver even opened the hood to check the alarm system, but at first to no avail. The five DFB stars got out of the taxi and returned to the restaurant.

Shortly after, the remaining stars boarded the DFB bus and took photos with the fans beforehand. However, when the team bus left around 11:30, it had only traveled about 200 meters before making an emergency stop, according to the “Bild” newspaper. The association’s security officer got out, had his cell phone pressed to his ear and was making a call.

The reason: The original taxi gang surrounding Süle, Tah, Groß, Hofmann and Andrich were still in the restaurant and were apparently forgotten when they left. In the end, the quintet also made the return trip to the team hotel, so that national coach Julian Nagelsmann can count on all the invited players for the matches against Turkey (Saturday, 8:45 p.m.) and Austria (Tuesday, 8:45 p.m.) . .
